Jio WiFi mesh router has hit the web with details about its proposed price and dimensions. This new development comes amid testing of mesh network-based offerings offered by Jio in India. The released router is designed by Karnataka-based electronics manufacturer Neolink Electronics and has the potential to work with separate mesh nodes to provide enhanced internet coverage. Jio Fiber customers can get some new broadband plans that work with its mesh offerings and get integrated, high-speed connections in their homes.
Through Telecom-centric blog Telecom Doc, the Jio WiFi Mesh router is priced at Rs. 2,499 on the Smart Consumer Platform with the support of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. The router has a Jio logo at the top and includes indicators to provide WiFi and LAN connection status.

The smart consumer platform also shows that the Jio WiFi mesh router is available on a pan-India basis. However, there is no such information on the official Jio site.
The surface of the Jio WiFi mesh router is not the only reference to start the operator’s loop service in the country. In fact, the operator recommends its mesh network technology on the JioFiber site. “Enjoy the best Jio WiFi Mesh experience with JioWiFiMesh service in every room of your home,” the company said on its site. Also, a video has been posted on YouTube since September last year that provides a glimpse of Geo’s loop service experience.
Like Jio, Airtel has recently started offering its mesh technology, which Airtel calls Extreme Fiber Mesh. Telco has partnered with Linksys to provide a three-pronged loop system covering an area of 3,500 square feet. In addition, Airtel users can enjoy its Rs. 24,999 annual rental plans must integrate the mesh system with their broadband network.
