Oneplus watch release. Earlier this year, OnePlus launched the OnePlus Nord, the brand’s first mid-range smartphone in 2015. Nord’s release marked a strategic shift for OnePlus; The company is returning to its roots by remanufacturing smartphones at affordable prices. But smartphones are not the only technology products that OnePlus makes now. The company has diversified its product portfolio, offering under the OnePlus TV line in the Smart TV market. Now, it seems that OnePlus may be ready to enter the new market: smartwatches. Apparently, the company may have developed a smartwatch called the OnePlus Watch.
The other day, a device with the marketing name “OnePlus Watch release” appeared on the website of the IMDA regulatory body in Indonesia. The device is listed as “wearable tracking”(Oneplus watch release) with the W301GB model name but does not disclose additional information such as specifications, software, or design. Most likely, it will run Google’s Root OS and will feature a Snapdragon root system-on-chip with the recently announced Snapdragon root 4100.
Oneplus Watch Release
This is not the first time we have heard of the introduction of the OnePlus smartwatch. In 2016, OnePlus confirmed that the company was developing a smartwatch. “We finished the design, but we decided to get rid of it. We need to focus,” said OnePlus CEO Pete Lowe during a 2016 Converge technology conference in Hong Kong. They set aside time until they are comfortable enough to advance in the industry.
We’ve heard something similar about the wait for OnePlus phones to bring wireless charging and when they actually talk about releasing wireless earbuds. OnePlus now considers that Wire OS and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear platforms are mature enough to be based on a new product, or they have upgraded their technology to be ready for the OnePlus-branded smartwatch prime time. OPPO, the sister company of OnePlus watch release under the umbrella of BBK Electronics, recently launched its own smartwatch in China and India, thus being the impetus for the growth of the OnePlus watch. Interestingly, the “supplier” listed in the IMDA certification is Synopol Device PDE. LTD, ”previously“ Singapore Oppo Electronics Pte. L.D.T. ”
A potential OnePlus watch could be launched with the late releases of the OnePlus, which will include the OnePlus 8D series and the more affordable Nord device, and will be released to the market over the same period. This is only a blind guess as there is no evidence or credible rumor about the release deadline. We approached OnePlus to comment on this rumor and will update this article when we ask again.
