Google Meet adds support for the Chromecast, which lets you stream your appointments to TV. With Chromecast support, you can hold your meetings, connect with friends, and attend big screen lectures. Since Chromecast is available on all Android TV models, you can stream meetings on Android TV devices. Google has decided to add this feature just a few months after the company launched the Meet on Nest Hub Max Smart Display. Google says the new feature will be available to all eligible users within the next few days.
The new feature will work with Chromecast, Chromecast Ultra, and second-generation Chromecast devices.
Although you can see the meeting on your TV, you will use the camera, microphone and audio from your computer or phone, so you will not be far away from it during the video call. Google added a word of caution to users, saying performance may vary on TVs and displays.
Google employee Grace Y announced the update in a brief blog post on the Chromecast Support Forum, a technology company that supports the new corona virus-induced learning environment for teachers and students because schools choose distance education. Grace said Google will allow you to host or join meetings via Chromecast, allowing you to connect with classmates, collaborate on projects, and attend lectures.
Speaking about how the new feature will help professionals working during epidemics, Grace said: “As work increases from home opportunities, Meat provides an organizational quality solution to stay with employees and oversee work programs. Change the usual atmosphere and enjoy your morning appointments in the living room with your TV screen, a large cup of coffee in hand. ”
Google introduced group calls via Nest Hub Max on Google Meet and Google Dio at the end of June.
