Google Play Music. If you do not already know, Google has been working tirelessly to convert its users from Google Play Music app to YouTube Music. YouTube Music is a real music streaming service that Google is moving forward. Google Play Music, as revealed in the official blog post, will start and end in September in select markets.
The two streaming services have been with each other for the past two years. Over the past year, Google has struggled to board the useful features of Play Music through YouTube Music. It even introduced a transfer tool to easily take your music from one application to another – giving you enough reason to switch.

Now, it looks like enough people have jumped on board and Google is ready to pull the plug on its old streaming service.
An official blog post confirms that Google Play Music will no longer be available in South Africa and New Zealand later this year. The rest of the world will follow closely in October. Users will not be able to stream music from September, but in-app purchases (single or albums) will go out later this month.
“Beginning in late August, users will no longer be able to purchase, pre-order, or upload or download music through Google Play Music, the Music Manager,” the official blog post revealed.
Google Play Music will close completely in December 2020. This is the final stage of the entire conversion process, and after a certain date (to be disclosed) your Play Music content will no longer be accessible. Your subscription will be automatically canceled. The company claims to ensure that “all users are clearly informed before they lose access to their Google Play music library and data.”
Yes, if Google Play Music is your portable music streaming service, you need to convert your library (including options, playlists, albums, etc.) to YouTube Music. You can go to other popular streaming services like my favorite Spotify or Amazon Music, which is bundled with ₹999 Amazon Prime subscription in India.
